Topic #188: Can a camera truly capture a moment in time when it is unable to capture itself or its user in that moment?
Topic from: Leonard Nimoy!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and we are visual creatures. I chose this particular image for a reason. When you look at it, you immediately start thinking, “where was I when that happened?” Pictures spark the memory and act as triggers for us to relive that split second or day in our lives. Even if we were not alive during that time, we can imagine what it must have been like based on the stories told about it or similar events that took place in our lives.
It is should be acceptable to capture any moment in time. The better question is when is it acceptable to share that moment with parties other than those depicted. Some pictures can be too personal or sensitive to be shared with the general public or outsiders.
